Stop Paying for “Audio Cable” When You Already Have Ethernet.

Most people try to run analog audio long distances the old way: specialty cable, thicker gauges, more shielding—and it still degrades or picks up noise. This DC3.5mm / RCA to RJ45 Audio Balun Extender Pair flips that equation. Instead of buying expensive, bulky audio cable, you route the signal over Cat5, Cat6, or Cat7 Ethernet cable that may already be in your walls, ceiling, or conduit. One pair carries stereo analog audio up to 305 meters (1,000 ft) with no power supply, no drivers, and no configuration.

The transmitter side accepts 3.5mm stereo and RCA red/white analog inputs. The receiver side outputs the same analog stereo signal at the far end. Because the conversion is passive and point-to-point, there is nothing to reboot, no IP addressing, and no software to install. Plug the source into one balun, the destination into the other, connect your Ethernet run between them, and the link is live.

Built for Real Installations, Not Just Desks

This is not a gadget for a 10-foot desktop run. It is for the jobs where audio has to go where the source cannot follow:

• Multi-room and whole-home audio — send a stereo feed from a media closet or rack to a distant amplifier, active subwoofer, or powered speaker zone without pulling new analog cable.

• Commercial and pro AV — meeting rooms, classrooms, retail displays, and houses of worship where the source rack sits far from the playback endpoint.

• Retrofit and historic spaces — when opening walls for new audio cable is not an option, use the Ethernet infrastructure that is already there.

What Makes This Pair Different

Passive by design. No power adapter at either end. The BALUN pair draws nothing from the wall, which means one less failure point and no extra outlet to find in a tight AV rack.

Distance without specialty cable. The 305 m / 1,000 ft rating is achieved over standard twisted-pair Ethernet. Compared with analog audio cable at the same length, Ethernet is thinner, more flexible, easier to terminate, and dramatically less expensive per meter.

Dual-input flexibility on the source side. The transmitter accepts either a 3.5 mm stereo plug or RCA red/white analog stereo, so it works with phones, laptops, media players, mixers, preamps, and legacy source gear without an extra adapter.

Point-to-point simplicity. Each pair creates one transparent analog link. There is no matrix switching, no network configuration, and no latency introduced by encoding or decoding.

Honest Notes Before You Buy

• Sold and used in pairs. One BALUN alone is not a complete link. You need the transmitter and receiver across the cable run.

• Cat5e or better is recommended. Cat5 works at the rated distance, but Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7 will give more headroom and is the safer choice for permanent installs.

• This is analog stereo audio, not HDMI or video. It is designed for line-level stereo signals. It does not carry digital audio, HDMI, or composite video.

• Signal quality depends on cable and terminations. Use quality Ethernet cable, keep terminations clean, and avoid running the cable alongside high-voltage power where possible.
